TrekShare.com - Crashing a wedding in Laos - Part 1Author: Joseph Kultgen Any reasonable person would think it slightly off-color to crash a wedding. When that wedding happens to be in Laoswho is to say if it’s inappropriate or not? Whom am I kidding? I was well aware of the potential drawbacks of dropping in on an event that I was clearly not invited. Itwouldn’t be the first time leering eyes would be cast uponme as I casually pressed my way up to the buffet table.Let’s regress for a minute. Some people might not know whatthe word "crash" means in the first sentence. For those ofyou who have been sheltered from large communitycenters/bowling alleys for the duration of your lives I canunderstand. It’s been my experience that a bowling alley inthe same venue ..." Ski traveller: SNOWBOARD CHALETS: Lodging for boardersAuthor: Independent, The (London)
Way back in the early Nineties, when snowboarding was just emerging from the Dark Ages, the Brothers Dragon found themselves transported from the hills of darkest Wales to the ancient peaks of the Alps. Here they discovered the joy of powder days, the draw of the landscape and a bunch of skiers who seemed to come from a completely alien world.

A chalet not staffed by an inexperienced gap-yearer and populated with condescending strangers, but a place run by riders, for riders. A place that feels ..." Click to read full Text |

For the love of the game: first black NHL player Willie O''Ree sees more diversity in hockey''s futureAuthor: Parks & Recreation
Canadian-born Willie O''Ree spent 21 years as a professional hockey player, making his debut with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League, and then finishing up his career on the West Coast with the Los Angeles Blades and the San Diego Gulls of the Western Hockey League. O''Ree''s presence as the only black player in hockey had more to do with his speed and ability to handle the puck than his color. Nonetheless, it was not until 1974, when the second black player, then Washington Capital Mike Marson, emerged onto the ice. Since retiring at 45 from ice hockey, O''Ree spends his days as the Director of Youth Development for NHL''s diversity program, appearing at youth ice hockey clinics nationwide. Many of the N..."
